Year of the Anacostia: Screaming Eagles Boat Tour
2018 is a big year for the Anacostia River corridor in Washington, D.C. and Maryland. The open space along the slow and gentle river was preserved as park land in an act of Congress on August 31, 1918 — 100 years ago. The Year of the Anacostia is a monumental opportunity to acknowledge history and look to the future.
Join the Screaming Eagles from 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. on Sunday 2 September 2018, for an Anacostia boat tour to learn about the natural and cultural history of the Anacostia River. This will be a one-hour guided tour of the river in an open-air motorized boat. The boat only holds a total of 20 people so don't delay in reserving your spot.
Boat tours will depart from Diamond Teague Park and drop off at the site of the Screaming Eagles tailgate at the Matthew Henson Conservation Center. All Welcome All United.
Guests are permitted to bring adult and non-adult beverages on the boat.
All proceeds will be donated to the Matthew Henson Earth Conservation Corps
